Fedora 31 Disable Autoupdate

The most annoying thing about it is that the auto update FORCES the user to wait until the update completes the download and install when trying to power off unless you remember to uncheck that box before completing the power off.

I had done a new reinstall on my laptop and inadvertently interrupted the update when shutting down during a large update, thus causing filesystem corruption and a necessary recovery. This is still a very bad idea for the unwary.

alway do dnf update.

You can always use needs-restarting after an update to find out if any programs actually need to be restarted; you’d be surprised to learn how few updates actually require a reboot.
