Failed to update due to NVIDIA packages conflict

So when I try to update my system, it has broken dependencies notably any NVIDIA related packages. For reference my machine has an old maxwell NVIDIA card GTX 580M. Since this card no longer receives update from NVIDIA I follow the instruction in RPM fusion for installing the 580 version. For a while this runs smoothly, until now it says there are broken dependencies when updating my system, im not sure if skipping this NVIDIA update is safe especially in kernel update.

Im on fedora 44 xfce which means i use x11 not wayland

My NVIDIA version from nvidia-smi :

NVIDIA-SMI 580.159.04 Driver Version: 580.159.04

When updating with sudo dnf upgrade —refresh

I just fixed this by updating using the following command:

dnf update akmod-nvidia-580xx xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-580xx-cuda --enable-repo rpm*testing  --refresh

This will update these two packages while temporarily enabling the rpmfusion testing repos. All dependent packages will also be version matched during this process.

This is currently the workaround for the issue, as the packages in rpmfusion testing have the dependencies available however for now there appears to be an issue in the standard rpmfusion repos where the updated NVIDIA driver does not have the appropriate versions of its dependencies available.
