F46 Wallpaper Inspiration Poll

The wallpaper is usually inspired by someone or something, in STEAM, starting with a specific letter of the alphabet. Right now we are on U! F45 is already done and ready, which has allowed us to move ahead of schedule and get wallpapers done in advance from now on.

When casting your vote, think of the visuals inspired by each option. Feel free to comment on your ideas below, as it might help others, and we would love to have a conversation about this!

  • Fred and Norah Urquhart - Zoologists w/ decades of research on monarch butterflies.
  • Karen Uhlenbeck – A mathematician, one of the founders of geometric analysis.
  • Tatyana Ustinova - A geologist who accidentally discovered the Valley of Geysers.
  • Uta Frith- A cognitive neuroscientist pioneering in the study of autism & dyslexia.

I can’t decide :laughing:, I would like to think there is a world where all of these visuals can play a part in the wallpaper that gets created. They all share some type of commonality and synergism being STEM related.

Always surprises me that the wallpaper seen by so many eyeballs comes from a quick poll of around 30 people who “bother”.

I’m almost tempted to request that Uta Frith gets it because @ankursinha is the only one who’s heard of her, plus she’s 85 - she’d probably be stoked.

Is there a way we (as the Fedora Project) can communicate with her and let her know that she and her work are the inspiration for the Wallpaper?
