F44 Budgie VM: Can't copy and paste

Testing out F44 with Virtual Machine Manager(Flatpak)
Clipboard copy-paste does not work with a fresh install F44 Budgie using Fedora-Budgie-Live-44-1.7.x86_64.iso
Which is odd as it worked before with this VM

  • F43 Workstation/Plasma/Budgie work
  • F44 Workstation/Plasma works
  • F44 Budgie does not work

Any tips on how to troubleshoot this?

  • I already tried launching virt-manager flatpak with --debug flag but there were no errors of differences: flatpak run org.virt_manager.virt-manager --debug
  • Budgie VM’s spice-vdagentd.service is active and no errors either.

Here’s the XML for the F44 Budgie VM, which was cloned from the F44 Workstation VM so I won’t attach the latter’s XML:

Edit #2
With the same VM xml as above, I did a fresh install of Fedora 43 Budgie and cloned that VM. Both the parent and clone VMs running Fedora 43 Budgie had no issues with copy-and-pasting.

Budgie-clone vm was then upgraded from Fedora 43 → Fedora 44 via dnf system-upgrade and now faces the same issue as copy-and-pasting is now broken

Could this be caused by Budgie v10.10 with the upgrade to Wayland?
As Fedora 43 Budgie is on v10.9.3
