F42 KDE Plasma: Unusable GUI after waking machine from suspend (blank/no GUI)

After installing Fedora 42 KDE Plasma version I installed the Nvidia drivers (570.144) to support my GTX 970 GPU.

I also enabled an x11 desktop (vice Wayland) because the nvidia-settings app does not appear correctly under Wayland (tons of options are missing).

Problem: If the system suspends, it does not come back in a usable state.

Screen is black, save for a mouse cursor which does move, but no other GUI elements ever appear.

What is the problem, and how can I fix it?

Thing I tried:

Ctrl + Alt + F3 gets me to a terminal, and I can log in. Then I try to start a GUI with the “startx” command. KDE loading screen appears for the usual amount of time, then I’m back to a black screen. Had to reset the machine manually (reset button).

So it’s been a week, and no reply.

If no one is willing or able to help here, where should I go for assistance?
