F41 KDE - Kerberos authentication failing for SMB shares

Hello,

Since Fedora KDE 41 I’m unable to use Kerberos authentication to access SMB shares. Dolpin asks for a username and a password and falls back to NTML v2 authentication; this does not use to happen with Fedora KDE 40.
It happens on both a clean install and also upgraded clients.

It’s not a difference if the share is originated from a Windows Server or a Linux Samba hosts (also Fedora 41 Server); it always fails.

It actually looks like it doesn’t even try to do it.
I’ve been able to find nothing in the logs or usual troubleshooting (sssd, sssd-kcm, messages, dolphin launched with KRB5_TRACE to sdt output…).
It does not even asks for a Kerberos Service Ticket for the SMB Server.

Can somebody help me out a little on this one?

Thanks,
Luca

It looks like a problem with KDE / smbclient 4.21 (which Fedora 41 uses) or an interaction between the two of them.
