F41 Change Proposal: GIMP Version 3 (self-contained)

Please submit it! If by time of beta freeze (Aug 20th) no RC has come around – that would be 3 months after upstream’s projected timetable – we have a couple of contingency options:

  • Keep crossing our fingers :sweat_smile:.
  • Taking python2 and the other deps of GIMP 2 which need it on my name so it’s out of your hair.
  • Dropping GIMP 2 from Fedora proper and moving it and python2 + deps + dependents to COPR (thanks @mattia for the suggestion!)
  • Following @mjg’s suggestion, dropping anything related to Python 2 from the GIMP 2 package… to be honest, I don’t like this option very much, it sounds like this is much more work than the above :wink:.
