Exetremely slow bootup, dual boot fedora 41 and windows 10, lenovo legion 5

Hi, about a month ago i started to notice GRUB lags, but nothing too bad. However yesterday my boot time became unbearable - sometimes takin up to 10 minutes.
The boot time not only affects linux, my BIOS is lagging as crazy, booting up the bios also takes like 3-5 minutes, bios is up to date.
Here is some information from systemd-analyze:

It sounds like something was updated that is not compatible with the bios. The boot loader took over 6 minutes to complete according to that info.

I suggest that you first check the current bios version (will be displayed if you run inxi -Fzxx) then check if there is a newer version available. Please post that inxi output here as preformatted text (the </> button on the toolbar) so we have info as to what hardware and drivers are in use. You stated the bios is up to date, and the inxi output should verify that for you.

I see one thing there that might be a factor in the slow boot, though I doubt it would affect the bios which took 52 seconds to reach the grub boot stage.
You have an nvidia RTX 3050 and it is loading the nouveau driver. The gpu may work much better if you were to install the nvidia driver from rpmfusion then run sudo dracut -f to ensure the initramfs file is updated.

As far as the laptop bios is concerned that is dated 01/16/2024 which is actually almost 2 years old. Are you certain there is no newer bios for that laptop? The lenovo site shows firmware dated 10 May 2024.

An additional factor is that you are still on f41, which will become EOL in about another 2 months, and your kernel is only 6.11.11 which is far far behind the current kernel at version 6.16.09 for f41. The 6.16.10 kernel is currently in testing.
Much updated software relies on current kernel versions and may well contribute to slow booting.
Please post the output of dnf4 list installed kernel.

Hi,
I have newer kernels (including 6.16.09), I’ve just tested out if any older versions will boot faster.

kernel.x86_64 6.14.4-200.fc41 updates
kernel.x86_64 6.16.9-100.fc41 updates
kernel.x86_64 6.16.10-100.fc41 <unknown>

BIOS is definitely up to date, the release version Lenovo has for 2024 is the same i have installed.
Changing drivers didnt help unfortunately.

Hello,
After updating to 42 and changing drivers nothing happened at first, but now again the boot is again working as it should be!
One thing which could probably affect it is that my laptop had 0% of battery and turned off by itself.

Almost every laptop made will always reduce cpu speed to the minimum possible when on battery and the battery is less than about 15%. Noting that the battery was low and turned off at 0% would have given a big clue about the cause of the slow boot.
