Evolution email can't send email with attachments on F42 KDE

,

As the topic implies I can’t send an email that has attachments. The attachments are sized 443KiB and 305.8 KiB. Those sizes are much below the size limit of 25MB.

The message I get is “An error occurred while sending. How do you want to proceed?

The reported error was “ DATA command failed: exceeded”.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

As an aside I can send the message with attachments using Thunderbird, but my normal email client I prefer has been Evolution for a long time. Not looking forward to spending the time to migrate everything to Thunderbird.

Not the answer you are looking for, but 42 is end of likfe now and wont get any updates.
You could see if 43 fixes it with how to upgrade

In addition to the upgrade, you haven’t provided anything about your Evolution setup.

Having said that, I just upgraded from Fedora 42 w/KDE to Fedora 43 and I was using Evolution with Office 365 or Microsoft 365 with both APIs (the graph API and ews API) and I had no issues with sending attachments.

It also depends on how you are running Evolution: Flatpak or RPM.

The evolution mailing list is very friendly and helpful. You will want to at least get a debug log of libcamel. Here’s that links:

best of luck
