Not long after installing fedora 36, I get this error when doing updates:
"Could not depsolve transaction; 1 problem detected:
Problem: package kernel-modules-extra-5.17.7-200.fc35.x86_64 requires kernel-uname-r = 5.17.7-200.fc35.x86_64, but none of the providers can be installed
Somehow you have kernel-modules-extra-5.17.7-200.fc35.x86_64 which is from F35 and it can’t update. If your not running a F35 kernel you shouldn’t need it.You can use dnf autoremove and see if it’s ok to remove it or check your installed kernels and if there F36 then just delete it and try and update again.
In a terminal you can type sudo dnf autoremove to check whats not needed on you system. If your sure your running a FC36 kernel then you can use sudo remove kernel-modules-extra-5.17.7-200.fc35.x86_64.You and also try sudo dnf upgrade --refresh and see if it that works as well.
Your advice fixed my problem, and of course for removing the kernel, I had to type sudo dnf remove kernel-modules-extra-5.17.7-200.fc35.x86_64. And the upgrade thing worked great, thanks.
