Error: Unable to find a match: trafficserver

Hello,
I want to install ATS on my Fedora Server, but I got “Error: Unable to find a match: trafficserver” error when I did below command:

# yum install trafficserver
Fedora Modular 33 - x86_64 5.1 kB/s | 6.6 kB 00:01
Fedora Modular 33 - x86_64 - Updates 5.3 kB/s | 5.3 kB 00:01
Fedora Modular 33 - x86_64 - Updates 27 kB/s | 128 kB 00:04
Fedora 33 - x86_64 - Updates 6.9 kB/s | 8.5 kB 00:01
Fedora 33 - x86_64 - Updates 48 kB/s | 3.3 MB 01:11
No match for argument: trafficserver
Error: Unable to find a match: trafficserver

My Fedora Server version is:

# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 5.10.19-200.fc33.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Feb 26 16:21:30 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

How can I solve it?

Thank you.

It looks like this package is unmaintained in Fedora Linux (see Overview - rpms/trafficserver - src.fedoraproject.org), and apparently hasn’t built properly since Fedora 25 or so, according to this message:

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/PA2LNDFYAREGYK75EPNOZRX5CJNOI5R6/

Options here are:

  • build in a different way into /opt or /usr/local
  • wait and maybe someone will fix it
  • work on updating the package … perhaps contact Björn and see if he has interest in collaborating on that.

Thank you.
Is ATS usable nowadays?
