Hello,
Since death stranding was on sale in Stream and that I got few games to work with Proton, I was very excited and bought it.
However, when I launch the game with the latest Proton or GE Proton, it says ‘Your graphics card doesn’t support DirectX 12’ and closes the game.
However, when I search on Intel’s site, it seems that this GPU still receives support and apparently, can be used with DirectX12…
So how do I possibly check if, I guess it’s the drivers, are up to date ?
I did a few browsing already but the solutions involved something smelling not good, aka installing xorg server or something. Maybe it still works for Ubuntu but I know that fedora is Wayland per default, so that option doesn’t sit right with me, I excluded it out of precaution.
Many people talk about mesa-utils but I’m pretty convinced they’re installed already, so why am I possibly still not able to use DirectX 12, which I’m supposed to be if I understood well what I’ve read on Intel’s website ?
My fastfetch below if it helps.
Thank you in advance for any advice.
And if it seems too risky to do this update for some reason, I can just put the game aside the time I consider buying a Steam Deck. That’s doable too ! Actually, it was because I saw it was compatible with the Deck that I hoped it could be with my laptop too… And got this surprise lol
