I may switch back to AirVPN from another (lesser) provider.
Their VPN app (Eddie) is simple, not pretty, but works very well (at least it did for years on mac for me). The thing is, I am on F40 with Gnome, and I don’t see how these sorts of apps can be used on Fedora Gnome as there’s no ‘system tray’ to speak of. I do actually have one (Tweaks I think, got it from somewhere anyway, it contains my Pano and EasyScreenCast buttons).
I am now used to using VPN using the built in Wireguard manager in Gnome, downloading config files from VPN provider.
If anyone uses Air/Eddie, I’d appreciate any comments on which is best, and if eddie can be used in some way with Gnome, without having it constantly running as an open window.
I have to say, despite my huge gripe with Fedora’s handling of Wireguard connections (have to risk exposing real IP every time you want to change location), it is otherwise very nice to use and very stable.
