I’m trying to install the Droidcam client from https://droidcam.app/linux/#av
Since it fails to launch, i followed the instruction below *, and installed gnome-shell-extension-appindicator gnome-extensions-app
When installing i do get some warnings
after running gnome-extensions-app I get “Something went wrong” and no AppIndicator(tray icons) is listed there to enable.
maybe it is not supposed to work with KDE Plasma, but only with Gnome?
Jonny Jewel:
gnome-extensions-app
I think the package name is self explanatory gnome-extensions-app

I see, I would assume then that there is no way to get Droidcam work on Kde

AppIndicator should work out of the box on KDE Plasma, without needing an extension.
Are you sure that your problem is related to AppIndicator? If you try to run the app from a terminal, do you get an error message?

you are right, i was able to run the client by just typing ‘droidcam’ in the terminal. Previously i was just using the shortcut icon, which still doesn’t work but doesn’t matter now
