I can’t seem to find the actual download link for Fedora Media Writer (for Windows 11). The download page references the doc page which references the download page it was referenced from.
I dug up an older version online but it keeps crashing and doesn’t write properly.
Where do I find the latest stable version for Fedora Media Writer?
The Fedora Media Writer download link is not found at Fedora Workstation | The Fedora Project
This could be a broken link , can someone let me know how can I report it
The website should be fixed now. If the links still aren’t showing for you, try force-refreshing the page by pressing ctrl+f5. Thanks for notifying us about this problem!
Thanks for the direct link, but my point is that one has to click Get Fedora > Workstation to see it. I don’t want workstation, so went to server and FMW is not linked on this page ie. it’s insufficiently signalled on the site for easy access and requires my to post in a forum.
Need your help once more, I am unable to login to the community to report this issue, can you help or advise how I can reach the team. When I click on login I get this page please see attached screenshot. I need to report that FMW direct download links are not functional anymore.
As for the download links, “not working” is a little vague. Are you getting an error code or message such as 404 (not found) or 500 (something went wrong server-side). You might get be able to get more detailed information about what the problem is by using a command like the following.
The “direct” link is https://fedoraproject.org/fmw/FedoraMediaWriter-win32-latest.exe. However, I suspect that is a redirect that has to be manually updated by someone on Fedora’s infra team whenever a new version of Fedora Media Writer is released. Consequently, the direct link might not be up-to-date and it is also possible that your browser has “cached” the old/outdated redirect. I would consider that direct link as unreliable (possibly unsupported) and suggest that you use the GitHub landing page. Is there a reason that the GitHub page will not work for you?
One of the reasons is that we want our students/candidates who sign up to take remote exam can download the fmw directly without the need to navigate and select from multiple options.
We provide this link to students and customers in our ebook(manual), let me discuss with my colleagues and explore the possibility of using the direct download link you have suggested.
Thanks for your timely response, I am traveling for the next two days, but I will drop a message if I have any further questions.
