Does anyone else use hybrid development

As deferring hybrid development I mean now example workstation as main no immutable and then using containers docker, podman, toolbox and distrobox for different development

For me I had to switch to this approach since my VPN won’t work or install onF41 anymore unless I use old version, but still all updates fails and then some password manager settings not there yet as fkatpak.

So I thought to combine and test hybrid approach and it seems pretty solid only what I am missing is rollback features if something goes wrong might check if I get snapper working

after this post i got Brainfart and like actually figured out what i have been doing past year for building my atomic Workflow and since i setup my Workstation workflow it all clicked on my brain…

wiped my hard drive → installed Kinoite → update kinoite → Layer nordVPN, 1password, 1Password-cli, Nvidia

installing flatpaks
-neochat
-LibreOffice
-Darktable
-Blender
-GIMP
-Inkscape
-Thunderbird
-Proton Mail Bridge
-Steam
-audiotube

then the finall brainfart moment since FireFox is already layered lets used it and the IDE been fighting Flatpak IDE issues and Layering and what to use etc… JetBrains offers Standalone Tarball installs and i can download and extract it to /var/opt/ then run the wenstorm.sh script that just puts config files on correct places and setup is done and create desktop icon from app and all done integration is working no flatpak hasslle and no layering and upates to app is automated still

the dream setup why i havent thought tarball installations before i feel so stupid
