Do you think The way dates are displayed is confusing?

We did this configuration modification in askfedora some time ago:

https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/the-way-dates-are-displayed-is-confusing/72022

Do you think we should do the same things here???

Regards.,

I’m not opposed, but there was the issue with the calendar plugin — which we’re using for Join us for Fedora Social Hour every week! - Fedora Discussion and Upcoming Fedora Council meetings - Fedora Discussion. I don’t remember what the problem was, exactly…

The change of how the platform display the dates is not cause any problme at all, the problem you’re talking about how the plug-ins you comment interferes how discourse sorted the LAST list :

This was the problem and was fixed in upstream some time ago:

Ok, so, in that case, I’m in favor of bringing the date format config change here.

Fix it now, this is what i did:

Use Admin > Customize > Text Content

search for 'YY which will list:
js.dates.tiny.date_year
MMM 'YY

js.dates.medium.date_year
MMM D, 'YY

js.dates.long_date_with_year
MMM D, 'YY LT

js.dates.long_date_with_year_without_time
MMM D, 'YY

js.dates.long_date_with_year_with_linebreak
MMM D, 'YY <br/>LT

Edit and adjust those replacing 'YY with YYYY to get the full year.

I think the way we have changed it to is much more confusing.

It is fine to expand the year but if you do that you need to remove the '.

“Nov '2022” makes no sense. It should be either “Nov 2022” or “Nov '22”

fixed now as yor metion @dalto

thx for your help…
