Dual booting and I’m coming back to the windows installation for a number of reasons and just missing options. One is there is not a decent file manager. On Windows I use Directory Opus since about 20 years or so.
Is there a (commercial) file manager that comes near to the functionality offered in Directory opus? (it will most likely not be ported)
Not quite the same, but Dolphin, provided by KDE, is pretty configurable. It has split view, move/copy to other view buttons, preview pane etc. The possibility to navigate within a multi-page document is missing though, AFAIK.
Let me suggest you take a look at Double Commander.
It is more or less a clone of the popular Windows application called Total Commander.
It has the same two-pane interface known from Midnight Commander (mc) but can do a lot more.
