Is it possible to make my machine open Youtube links in my Freetube app instead of browser URL direct to YouTube?
This answer suggests:
a. writing a short wrapper script that examines a URL and opens the appropriate app for it (so let’s say, Freetube for YouTube links, Firefox for every other URL)
b. creating a .desktop file for it
c. setting that as the default handler for HTTP and HTTPS links
Thanks, bit out of my range of knowledge but I’ll have a crack at it!
Cool. So if you get that working, that should cover the case of opening a link in some non-browser app (like an email client) and making it go to FreeTube.
If you also want to click on a YouTube link on a web page and have that go to FreeTube, that’s more straightforward, i.e. a browser extension should do it for you. The FreeTube docs recommend LibRedirect or RedirectTube.
Wow, hijack web links to freetube- that woiuld be VERY cool! Thanks

How does one enable developer mode in Extension Manager please?!
On Ungoogled Chromium there’s a toggle at the top-right of the Extension Manager page:
Not sure if this is different on Google-branded Chrome though.
OOOOH. I thought it meant Extension Manager in Fedora OS!
