Red Hat has this really cool product called devtoolset but a 2 year life cycle just isn't enough for a lot of teams. So this COPR is intending to make a version of devtoolset that has the versions of packages available in EL 7. The idea is then the same versions can be used on both EL 6 and 7 and hopefully the patches/fixes applied to EL 7 can be rolled into this version of devtoolset so its life cycle can be more inline with that of EL.
