It is surprising as ISO for install was downloaded and made yesterday, everything form official website, the whole system was installed yesterday as well and fully updated.
As of test user, I did it and everything seems the same. Would you like me to post the outputs of commands from that user as well?
You could also try cheese as suggested by @gnwiii earlier.
sudo dnf install cheese
Thanks
Sadly, still camera is not detected in any of the programs. By looking at Journalctl and inxi, nothing has changed, still detected as it was. Not being detected in Camera, Cheese, Kamoso or Guvcview apps.
Either the camera is broken, there is a conflict between the apps you have installed, or a misconfigured setting.
Did you try a new user login? You could also try installing Zoom as it mostly ignores user settings.
I would remove all 4 apps, try to clean app settings stored in ~/.config/AppName and then install one at a time starting with Cheese, then guvcview. To test the apps, start journalctl —follow in a terminal and then run the app.
Camera is not broken as I can connect it to the windows laptop and works 100% fine.
I did try new user as mentioned before and nothing of note happened.
I’ve removed all apps, restarted PC, reinstalled Cheese as couldn’t find Zoom anywhere, yet still no success. I’m starting to think to just leave it for now as it takes way longer than I thought and just focus on other tasks to learn about Linux. It might be a bit too much for me now ![]()
Thanks for everything!
