I wonder if Fedora is an inclusive product. I have a slight handicap and am unable to read (dark) red text on a black background or vv.
How do i turn the black in this text to bright red to make it legible?

Or make it white on red?

I understand visual issues. Perhaps switching the terminal window from dark to light (which switches from white text on black background to black text on white background) would provide enough contrast to read the then red on white text.
certainly helps with the contrast of dark red and background color. It also is a strain on the eyes.
If a dark mode exists in a software it should take care to retain contrast. I find this user interface very confusing:
why are there two entriies Breeze? with exactly the same sample? Clicking through five (5) different dialog windows to just simply change one color quite confusing.
The contrast of blue on black and red on black has always been an issue for me. I use a light background with the brightness dimmed to provide the needed contrast while reducing eyestrain.
I also have the nightlight settings on to provide a warmer tone to the monitor which helps with eyestrain as well.
The lack of contrast between blue on black and red on black is a matter of the colors themselves and cannot be adjusted easily.
As I pointed out it is possible to fix the contrast on the colours in the profile.
It not necessary to switch from dark to light style is you do not want to.

The way that terminal apps must work is to honor the spec for the colors in the ANSI specs.
That has nothing to do with desktop themes.
As the specs for ANSI colors comes from the says before dark-mode was a thing it’s not surprising that using a dark background leads to contrast issue.
The spec just defines the names of colours though, not precise RGB values.
The actual RGB values are implementation-dependent (Wikipedia page has examples of the wide variety across just a few example implementations).
Personally I agree that the contrast is too low in the default theme for Konsole, and it’s worth a bug report to KDE.
“Dark mode” (though it wasn’t originally called that) is surely older than light mode? All those old green-on-black or amber-on-black terminals! ![]()
They did not support colors…
