Current version of Mesa has VRAM leak issues

Full details in this now closed, gitlab issue. VRAM leak in certain proton titles (#12391) · Issues · Mesa / mesa · GitLab

TL;DR certain proton titles will have issues with memory leaks. I have a buddy who’s running Arch w/ Mesa 24.3.2-1 and he doesn’t have this issue.

How hard would it be to bump Fedora’s version of Mesa to something newer to help resolve this? It’s affecting a game I’ve been playing quite a bit of recently.

I don’t know if it’s related but i have near a systematically hang up/crash on The Talos Principle 2 game, on any Proton’s version, with my (old but good) RX580 8 Gb. No log is recorded because the crash provokes I/O errors (can’t access to any filesystem) and i must do a hard reboot. Sometimes a window with the message “Error!” appears.

@makal This sound like a seperate issue. You should raise a new topic if you want to discuss it.
