I had an attempt a few years ago going dual boot with Win10/Fedora 41(I think), trying to see what works and what doesn’t in terms of my hardware. And the biggest problem was the Creative AE-5 card I have.
Yes, it seemed to work, but when I switched back to windows, I realized that the onboard profile (I think its an onboard profile) was corrupted, and the sound was a binary mesh, only the priests of Omnissiah could understand (and, in order to bring it back to life, I had to reinstall windows drivers, which only then managed to overwrite the profile).
So I basically went back to Windows for that system. Now I’m considering my options (I wanted to move to Linux quite a while ago, but what good it is for home use if some of the core things I require work miserably…), looking in the direction of better (than win10) HDR support.
