COSMIC Atomic changes 42 to 43

I can’t seem to find a changelog anywhere. What has changed from version 42 to 43 in COSMIC Atomic? Is it still alpha software or has it been updated substantially?

I would suggest asking at #cosmic:fedoraproject.org.

Fedora 42 and 43 currently ship the same version of COSMIC - 1.0.0-beta.7. So there should be little to no difference between Fedora COSMIC Atomic 42 and 43, at least concerning COSMIC desktop environment itself.

Do you know if its ever going to get an update?

Define “it” and which update you’re referring to and / or which updates you think are currently missing?

Fedora Rawhide, 43, and 42 already ship COSMIC 1.0.0-beta.9, which is the most recent version and was only released 2 days ago.

By “it” I meant the COSMIC DE. I misunderstood your original reply to mean that Fedora was still stuck on an earlier version. I didn’t realize that Fedora was using the latest version of COSMIC.

System76 released Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS on December 11, 2025 with COSMIC as a stable, non–beta version. Has the Fedora version followed with a stable release?

Yes, and you can see for yourself in our package update system. Fedora COSMIC tracks very closely with upstream.
