Is there any guidance / infrastructure re: container hosting for SIGs and WGs?
I’m currently using my personal Quay to host FDWG images, but that makes me a single point of failure and an unnecessary gatekeeper for others.
Have we considered hosting something ourselves? Perhaps Harbor?
We don’t currently have anything that I know of. No SIGs have asked…
We do host our own registries for official fedora images, but…
a) we are looking to stop doing that soon (moving to quay.io)
and
b) I don’t think we want to mix sig images in with official images.
Perhaps we could make a fedora-sigs org in quay.io for these?
Or each sig could make their own orgs there?
Can I ask the details about planned permissions management in the move to quay?
One of the main reasons I was asking here is because I would ideally like our ops contributors to be able to A) Log in with their FAS account, and B) have their Quay permissions sync’ed with their FAS groups. Nobody wants the toil and fragility of manually sync’ing permissions everywhere.
To my understanding this is possible with self-hosted Quay, but not in the SaaS version.
Yeah, it’s not possible. The quay.io groups/permissions/logins are
entirely seperate.
