Conflict with the libheif package

Hello,

Is it a known issue? Although not mentioned is it something related to RPM Fusion?

Part of the sudo dnf upgrade --refresh output:

There are sometimes delays in keeping rpm-fusion repos up to date with the updates repo from Fedora. These repos usually get in sync shortly (a few days maybe).

libheif-freeworld from RPM-Fusion is here on an older version.

I think mine was just updated…(?)

Sep 20 05:04:05 fedora dnf5[718]: [ 4/11] Upgrading libheif-0:1.23.4-6.fc 100% |  15.0 MiB/s |   2.4 MiB |  00m00s

That is libheif from Fedora repos, but the issue here is with libheif-freeworld from RPM-Fusion.

This is strange. It was updated in its Git repo to the same upstream version more than 5 days ago:

Looks like some infrastructure issue on the RPM Fusion side.

An updated libheif-freeworld is expected to be available on Thursday (three days time).

thanks for solving this i saw the package conflict yesterday.

The update is still not showing in the rpmfusion updates-testing repo, but hopefully everything is still on track for Thursday.

I still don’t understand, why it takes so long time to reach even the testing repo?

Update to the upstream 1.23.4 version was committed into master in September 15. According to the maintainer’s comment in Bugzilla it was merged into f44 and built in September 19. Today, 3 days later, it’s still not available even for testing:

$ sudo dnf --enablerepo=rpmfusion-free-updates-testing list libheif-freeworld

What is going on?

That had been perplexing me too, but I’m happy to report that the update to libheif-freeworld is now in the rpmfusion-free-updates repo, and I have updated my system.

~$ dnf info libheif-freeworld
