I run sudo dnf update this morning and updated the kernel and NVIDIA driver. After I restarted my computer, my computer got much more responsive than before.
By responsive, I mean it takes less time it takes to show the search palette when I press the command button on my keyboard gets.
Is this because of the NVIDIA driver update?
How would one be able to tell?
You could roll back your nvidia driver (sudo dnf downgrade …) and see if it behaves laggy again. Then the cause is likely the driver.
You could also boot an older kernel from the grub menu and see if that was the cause. Could be other things as well…
