Please coordinate with the KDE SIG, there’s a ticket open to discuss stuff in: https://pagure.io/fedora-kde/SIG/issue/387
I have left a comment there. Plus I looked at @kkofler list (which he notes is out of date).
Hi @kevin ,
What do you think of using the Category element with games? Then categories could be specified that would require certain group/package elements. I know it’s currently mostly unused but wouldn’t it help?
Hello @mattdm ,
I recommended on the issue ticket noted that it should now be closed since the list noted in the original issue is no longer valid. After installing F38 Workstation in a VM I could not reproduce the list at all, so comps must now be up to date. I did however get two not listed as being listed as optional but not available, celestial and lucidlife.
No match for group package "celestia"
No match for group package "lucidlife"
Well, I am not sure what if anything would use/see them?
Unless we could get dnf / librepo adjusted to?
I think dnfdragora still uses the categories. Not sure if anything else does.
It sounds like more effort than desired if no one is using it. I was hoping to have the ability to get sub-groups.
this happens periodically when packages get retired. I clean up mandatory and default listed packages which don’t exist every few months, but I don’t usually bother with optional ones as I figure it doesn’t hurt much, and if someone unretires the package, it probably makes sense for it to still be there.
