Complete system freeze (kernel 6.14.8)

Seems like the issue might be fixed on 6.14.9 ? I rebooted to it more than hour ago and no crashes/freezes so far… let’s hope it stays that way!

Maybe related (based on the above log extract):
Consistent screen freezes after upgrading to F42 → mostly the later posts (earlier a few different issues accidentally came together in this topic)

There are further related topics, I already mentioned them in the other one.

If it is the same issue, it is likely solved soon. 6.15 gives hope, but also 6.14.9 contains related fixes and so far seems to solve the issue for several people who tried it. For more, see other topic and the two AMD issue tickets mentioned there. There is also a mitigation that works for most, just in case 6.14.9 does not yet fix the issue. Again, see the posts in the other topic and the AMD tickets :classic_smiley:

With 6.14.9, anyone using wireless network? After I updated to 6.14.9, the wireless signal bar will flip-flop… don’t attempt to switch network, I have experienced that this will freeze the system and resulted to the wi-fi adapter NOT detectable thereafter. Also sudo journalctl -xe seeing A LOTS of gnome dbus error.

For me I have restored to 6.14.6 and plan to stick to this version for some time.

even though my pc is connected to internet via ethernet , can you explain this part , what do you mean by flip-flop

The signal bar intermittently raise to max and fall to non. It should be max for my case because the router is not far away. 6.14.6 does not have this issue, neither there’s gnome dbus error.

i have a laptop too running fedora 42 kernel 6.14.9 , will confirm if its the same for me or not.

wifi is working fine for me , no flip flop etc.

I suggest to open a new topic about this. This one is solved and started with something different. Most helpers will not review this anylonger.
