Clevo backlit keyboard and imput remapper solutions for fedora 42

,

One of the issues I had with fedora was that the keyboard backlight was not working after restart/suspend and it was non-configurable using Fn key. I found the solution for my Clevo laptops here: Clevo Keyboard Backlight Control For Linux - NovaCustom
Can it be implemented in fedora 42 for Clevo users?
Also I couldn’t find an imput remapper in Discover. Here is a very simple GUI solution for those who have non-working keys: GitHub - sezanzeb/input-remapper: 🎮 ⌨ An easy to use tool to change the behaviour of your input devices.
I think it can be easily added too.

Fedora does not package kernel core that is not in the linux kernel upstream. For this to be part of fedora Clevo devs need to contribute their code to the linux kernel.

Note also that Fedora 42 has been branched but has not yet reached the Beta testing stage, so support here is still pretty premature. It would be better to communicate directly with the clevo developers to request features.

If you mean Fedora developers then nothing will be done as the kernel code has not been contributed. Fedora’s policy is to only support kernel code that is part of the upstream kernel.

If you mean the Clevo developers then they need to upstream their code.
