Issue 1 — Wayland: Chrome maximize bug On Wayland session, when I use the keyboard shortcut to maximize Chrome (Meta+M or the KWin maximize button in the title bar), the window gets maximized but I cannot restore/resize it by clicking the title bar button. I have to use the same shortcut again to get out of it. Using Chrome’s own maximize button works fine. The issue only happens with KWin’s maximize shortcut/button. Switching to system title bar fixes it but looks ugly.
Issue 2 — X11: Fullscreen stuttering and animation lag On X11 session everything works fine with Chrome maximize, but all apps stutter and lag when opening in fullscreen. Animations like minimize are also slow. Disabling the compositor (Alt+Shift+F12) makes everything smooth but then I lose animations. The lag does not happen on Wayland.
I have tried
-
--ozone-platform=waylandand--enable-features=WaylandWindowDecorationsflags for Chrome -
KWin window rules for Chrome
-
Reinstalling all plasma packages
-
Clearing all KDE cache and configs
-
Is there a way to fix Chrome’s maximize behavior on Wayland, or fix the compositor stuttering on X11?
