Hi! I’m newie to linux and don’t understand why all my apps can’t updates.

Those errors are often temporary and frequently caused by some problem on the internet.
Wait a short time then try again.

I have some strange feelings about it, because I downloaded Fedora two days ago

You can try to update via command line in a terminal with

sudo dnf update

I have seen some connection problems to the cisco repo in a country recently. If it does not work tomorrow, you may wish to resolve the issue another way.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work

I think to reinstall my Fedora, maybe it will be work

I would hold off with the reinstall - its only been three hours.

I tried to manually go to the mirror and got an ‘access denied’ so it is probably a mirror problem.

Linux is not like Windows:

  • there are workarounds for broken mirror sites. Especially now, when many internet sites are being hammered by people scooping up data to feed AI’s, workarounds are needed
  • most issues can be resolved with help of user communities like this forum
  • Linux is a community project. Reinstall may erase the evidence needed to understand an issue so it doesn’t affect other users

A simple workaround is to exclude this particular package for the moment:

sudo dnf update --exclude=openh264

If that’s the only package that has issues in the mirrors, this will proceed. If you’re hitting a general mirror issue, other packages may then throw this error.

(If this continues, we can contact the Fedora infrastructure team who may be able to look into this to see what’s happening)

Maybe your different wifi is on a different isp - one that is not showing to AWS as in Russia, Ukraine or Iran.
