Can't see the drawing tablet settings in KDE 6.3

New KDE came out today,
got excited to try out the new drawing tablet settings, but they’re not anywhere in the system settings. i tried searching for it too, but it didn’t show up.

The option’s just not there.

I can use open tablet driver, but it’s janky, and the default driver in the kernel works better so i was disappointed to not see the promised new feature.

Pressure sensitivity works in krita, so i know that the tablet’s being recognised, but i’d love to be able to set my tablet’s buttons up with the new KDE setting.

Any ideas what’s going on?

It’s a Huion Inspiroy H640P, getting a bit old now, but it works. it’s a shame that huion only makes drivers for GNOME, can’t seem to get their official drivers working in KDE.

What did you do to install 6.3? As far as I know it has only just started being tested and is not released for Fedora yet. Usually it take a week or two to pass testing.

I just updated it using the discover app? it showed up as a system update today so i installed it.

My KDE fedora is a vanilla install, not using Nobara or any other unusual distro or anything.

i should mention i have both X11 and Wayland installed and have tried to find the drawing tablet setting on both, but the option shows up on neither.

Aha! That’s a nice surprise - I was expecting needing to wait for 6.3.

In my Fedora KDE VM I see the Drawing Tablet in System Settings.
The panel reports No drawing tablet found.

I found the panel by typing tablet into the search box.

I suppose that i am simply unlucky,

I was poking around in the KDE help forums for advice on this issue and they tell me they suspect it’s a distro packaging issue for fedora KDE

A gentleman using KDE neon told me that the setting was there for him even though he has never had a drawing tablet.

unfortunately, mine is missing.

and when searching for it, it doesn’t appear:

Should i report this as a bug through the proper channels?
the guys over at the KDE help forum seem to think this is a fedora KDE packaging issue. and I’m a little reluctant to distro hop, i was just getting used to fedora…i kinda like it…

On my Fedora desktop the Drawing tablet panel is in settings.

It would be good to report the issue in the fedora bug tracker.
You could also join the fedora kde email list and report there.

Wellp. I ended up just reinstalling Fedora with KDE from scratch and now the drawing tablet option is there.

Must have just been one of those random weird things, i guess.

Oh well. Problem solved.

Btw in virt-manager you could forward the USB device and use the drawing tablet in the VM
