I use a Legion Pro 5. Fedora won’t let my machine go to sleep. Whenever I try it gets stuck on the lock screen. The last time I tried, my display was stuck on the Lockscreen and I couldn’t even move my mouse.
Perhaps, this is due to the new ‘battery saver’ mode on my Laptop. When it is active, the LED button slowly blinks white and the display is turned off (that is how it works on Windows). I am not sure if the new feature is because I did a BIOS/UEFI update on my machine (using Lenovo Vantage on Windows 11).
How can I fix this problem?
P.S. I am still very new to Fedora Linux and the Fedora Discussion. I am still learning.
I didn’t have this issue at all on my gaming laptop (HP Omen) until I did a clean install of Fedora. If you use KDE, I recommend making screen lid to either shut down or turn off screen, as that’s what I’ve done right now.
Sometimes resetting the BIOS to its setup defaults and after a reboot re-applying your custom settings, if required, can clear old hidden incompatible BIOS settings. caution this could trigger Windows’s bitkeeper key recovery if it’s a dual-boot setup.
