Can't get the current version of fuzzel to work

Greetings!

The current version of fuzzel doesn’t seem to work. I naively upgraded to fedora 43 on my laptop where I don’t use a DE and I use keystrokes that spawn fuzzel for menus when needed, I use it for the list of programs to search/launch, I use it to spawn a shutdown/logout/reboot menu and, lastly, for a file finder.

For a while, on fedora 42, I had to downgrade fuzzel every time I updated my packages because the latest version didn’t work.

On 43 the version that gives me trouble is the only version available, so downgrading is not an option.

Can this be fixed somehow?

EDIT: Here is a git with all my configs. Niri is the config file with the keybinding to spawn the fuzzel windows, using some scripts. The fuzzel configs are also available.

I installed fuzzel and ran it and started a couple of apps from its list.
It worked for me, but I do not have anything but the default config.

Maybe it’s an issue with your config?

I considered it, so I removed my config and tried changing stuff, it did not help.

Furthermore, my config worked fine with the previous version.

I know this may be asking a lot, but just to test things would you download my fuzzel config file from the link I shared?

Can you run it from the terminal see if it prints any erros?

warn: key-binding.c:226: Shift+Insert: combo with both explicit modifier and shifted symbol (level=1, mod-mask=0x00000001), replacing with Multi_key

Does Fuzzel window appear when you run it from the terminal? I tried it with your configuration on Sway, and it worked fine.

It appears for an instant before vanishing, regardless of how I spawn it.

This only works for the first time it’s launched, after that it doesn’t show for even that instant.

anything in journalctl for the failure, if it writes nothing to stderr when it executes?
