Everything seems to work fine except when I try to save files on my computer. The file explorer opens and I can select the destination, but nothing happens after saving the file. When I go to the destination folder, I can’t find the file.
I installed Flatseal to make sure Signal has the right permissions, I activated the “All user files” toggle (which should give access to my home directory to Signal), but it still won’t save (I tried Documents, Downloads, and so on).
I’m probably missing something here … has anyone encountered a similar issue ? Is there a solution to this ?
i just tested it and i cant see them too might be located on flatpak side where downloads comes or Signal flatpak bug.
sudo flatpak override --env=SIGNAL_PASSWORD_STORE=kwallet5 org.signal.Signal how this is working still on kwallet5 i thought F41 plasma is using kwallet6? i use it always as sudo flatpak override --env=SIGNAL_PASSWORD_STORE=kwallet6 org.signal.Signal
EDIT
actually i find it for HOME just tested again even if i download image or file and choose example Downloads it puts them to HOME
I tried several things for an hour, nothing worked.
I changed to kwallet6 sudo flatpak override --env=SIGNAL_PASSWORD_STORE=kwallet6 org.signal.Signal but did not see any difference.
Then I just updated my flatpaks (Signal 7.46.0 to 7.47.0) and the Kinoite version (now running 41.20250321.0) and now it works!
I had the exact same problem on another computer running Bazzite and the update worked too … I do not know what the issue was, but it seems to be fixed.
it needs sudo to override this without sudo it wont override due permission issue. if all flatpaks are on user level not system level then it works without sudo
