I am a long time fedora user, I’d say started from fedora 1. I mainly use fedora for development projects, occasionally use it for other purpose such as trying to watch a DVD. I found it was really a pain to get a cd/dvd work on fedora. recently I thought this kind of problems should not exist after 30 or 40 versions. I was surprised to see I was wrong.
I am using an external cd/dvd drive. After I inserted a cd/dvd to it I cannot see and drive info shown on the File Manager, and none of the cd/dvd player program and find the media. Since I only need to watch a dvd occasionally I would rather use ubuntu or Raspberry Pi than to get cd drive work on fedora.
I want to know how many fedora users are actually used cd drive without going through the tedious problem solving process.
maybe this is a too minor issue that the fedora development team bother to address.
I always love fedora just want to see it is getting even better.
