Can you install legacy NVIDIA drivers for 1050 GT on Fedora Kinoite?

I am interested in Fedora Kinoite. I like the idea of an atomic OS that’s more immune to breaking. I have an Dell XPS 15 9560 laptop that has an Intel integrated video and an NVIDIA 1050 GT card. Can you install the legacy NVIDIA 580 drivers on Fedora Kinoite? And is Fedora Kinoite secure boot capable? Also is Fedora Kinoite meant for people who are coming over from Windows like I am or should I stick with regular Fedora KDE, I am using Fedora KDE 44 at the moment.

I have switched from traditional Fedora to Fedora Atomic (Silverblue in my case) a few years ago, and from my personal experience I can recommend going with Fedora Atomic, when switching from Windows. The atomic desktops have an easier way to roll back, and major upgrades are almost as easy as regular system updates. You can always go back to the traditional Fedora desktop later, in case you find Kinoite not answering your needs.

I recommend installing Kinoite with the default nouveau drivers, check its capabilities and limitations, then install (layer) the NVidia drivers from RPMFusion, using the rpm-ostree install command. Should something go wrong, you can always roll back to the previous deployment.

There are some discussions here on the forums about the 580.xx drivers, you might want to check them as well.

I installed Fedora atomic and it was good. However upon further exploration I discovered that installing the NVIDIA driver was a little more work involved than regular Fedora as it involved blacklisting the nouveau drivers and turning off secure boot. I decided to stick with regular Fedora KDE 44 edition because installing NVIDIA drivers on it is easier and is compatible with secure boot which I prefer to leave on. I do very much appreciate your reply though as it got me to try Fedora atomic out. I explored a little. I expanded my mind thanks to you. Have a great day.
