When you say the brightness function keys don’t work does that mean others do work?
How do you use the keys, do you use the Fn button and the Function key or just the Function keys? I have an HP Probook here and I noticed when starting using it that I don’t need to use the Fn key. On my Lenovo I do have to use the Fn key or I get the normal Function key function.
I also set the action to Turn off screen when the laptop lid is closed and here the wifi stays on.
In the settings you see 2 lines above When laptop lid closed the item when inactive. What do you want the laptop to do when the time has expired? When you selected Sleep then after the selected amount of time the laptop will fall asleep and with it the wifi.
Try downloading something big (Fedora ISO for example), close the lid for 5 seconds or so and open it again. What does the download do, is it still working or was it dead and now restarting?
When after 5 seconds the wifi is still on, the laptop responds to the action when the lid is closed. When you wait before opening it again until the time at “When inactive” has expired the wifi is most certainly off (when sleep is selected)
Hi JandeMus and thank you for your reply.
Indeed i do not have to press the Fn key. Or at least not for the extra functionality. They are reverces. I need to press the Fn key to fire the actual function key but I prefer it this way. (I never use them anyway)
The other keys work yes appart from the airplane mode key.
I saw there is a second thread about this problem right now. Have a look here and see if the solutions in that thread help you as well: opening-the-laptop-lid-turns-wifi-off
Oops, I just saw you found this thread already. Great that it works, enjoy Fedora KDE.
