Brave Browser glitch on KDE makes colors render wrong

tl;dr this is not a “Fedora only problem”, it’s something between Brave and KDE.

There are reports of this happening on Arch and Manjaro too.

I am posting here because this site also allows me to post pictures. Th main reason tho is that I am still sick, so I can’t work on even stuff as simple as “finding the trail where to report this, and make a gorillion new accounts for every new website”.
Please, somebody else, report this in my place…

I am literally having the same issue on kde arch linux for brave only. When there is inactivity and the screen dims i interact with the screen and the colours go off like this so i have to restart the whole brave again. If anyone finds any solution for this please let me know

Have you reported this to the Brave support? Maybe posting on their community forums is an option, too.

There’s an email address for contacting the Brave support. Anyway, I’ve written an email to them and they’ve promptly replied and are investigating the issue. The issue also appears on Brave’s github page in various forms, e.g.:

Run into similar issue as you, and managed to resolve it by tuning off the hardware acceleration in Brave settings.

Happens in Chrome too. Only happens when at 100% brightness, 99% or below and the colors are normal.

Nice catch!
Here also, only happens on 100% brightness.

Yeah, I can second that.

Seems to be happening for everyone like that…

That said, I’m too sick to open a new issue right now, so I’m just gonna quickly introduce it here to at least leave a trace:

I have Fedora KDE and 2 monitors (Oled and VA=.
For some reason, if VA isn’t digitally placed on the LEFT of Oled I can’t turn Oled off because "something something, position negative numbers).

Strange…

I don’t know if Brave of KDE, but they fixed the bug.
