Hello, asking here for help because I’m having issues with my new Fedora 42 Workstation install. The software worked fine initially but, after updating all packages in the software app, I started having an infinite boot loop which shows the following:
However, the second version of Fedora which appears in the GRUB menu still worked so I opened that instead and continued on for a day until I (perhaps foolishly) updated everything again and got the same error.
I’ve looked at some of the other posts about similar issues but can’t identify similarities (although that might be due to my inexperience with Linux than a lack of genuine similarity.)
I have an NvME and a SATA SSD but only the NvME is being used for Linux (Sata holds a Windows install.) During Fedora’s install, I told it to use the entire drive if that affects anything.
Currently booted in recovery mode as that’s the only one that works. Not entirely sure what to do as I’m not very knowledgeable on linux. Please explain what to do to fix things, if I should just hard reset and do a full reinstall and when to update things.
It looks like the system is looking for the root file system identified as UUID=b0ea35e3-9dbb-456a-be6a-c20ec7caeab8. You don’t have a resume= line so that is ruled out.
It would be interesting to see if there were any previous error in the log. The command journalctl -p err will only show errors and other critical messages. Similarly, journalctl -p warning will show errors as well as wanings.

I didn’t see anything about the nvme unit which would indicate if it is working or not. Does lsblk -fp show anything? Or did new messages show up in the log?
