Bluetooth not starting, how can I get an error message?

Fedora 39 Workstation (GNOME) user here, I usually turn on the bluetooth by either:

  • Clicking on the Quick Setting menu (top right of my screen)
  • Going in Setting → Bluetooth

Occasionally (not that often), Bluetooth won’t turn on. I click the buttons on the GUI, it goes into a “Loading” animation, and after a short moment it goes back to the off position. No matter how much I retry.

My problem: where can I find an error message? Can I try launching it from the CLI? How?

bluetooth.service is running. Restarting it doesn’t change the problem:

Hi Joe Hakim,

I don’t know if you have found your answer but for the record, here is a hint:

You can have logs report about your bluetooth activity using the simple debugging from the docs: Troubleshooting Bluetooth problems :: Fedora Docs

Cheers
