This does not sound like a problem with bluetooth, but rather pipewire/wireplumber in that the proper output may not be selected.
Have you checked the settings to verify the proper audio output device is selected?

Agggghhh yeah that was it. Damnit. I checked that half a dozen times. I had it on for the recording device but off for playback device. I didn’t think these headphones even have a mic in them. This sound settings panel is very confusing. I have 6 outputs, 4 of which aren’t connected to anything, 3 audio inputs & 4 playback streams. My Macally mouse still doesn’t work but I’ll leave that for another thread, another day. Thanks much Jeff & George. I appreciate your help. This page setup with the input box next to the output would work really nice for LaTeX.
