Blank screen after SDDM login to Sway and PLasma desktop

Hi everybody!

I am kind of lost here. I have a Lenovo Ideapad 330s with Nvidia GPU (1050) with Fedora 43 KDE and everything worked alright.

However, today when i tried to login to my sway session the screen went blank after entering the password in the SDDM login screen.

I have tried to remove “rhgb” args in the kernel and to restart the sddm service with a tty terminal but it doesnt work.

I am able to launch the sway session manually from the TTY.

Below is my journalctl -b log. Any help would be gigantic.

That error looks like one that could cause a blank screen. I’d search for more information about what might be causing that error.

Please be aware that when the nvidia driver is updated from 580 to 590 it seems the 1050 GPU will no longer be supported. I replaced 2 of those version GPUs with the intent of being prepared for the coming nvidia driver updates. Use caution when updating the nvidia drivers to avoid loss of support for your nvidia gpu.

It is my understanding that the 590 driver will be available for fedora at about the time Fedora 44 is released (April ?)

The thing is that i havent installed any NVIDIA drivers and the issue appeared after an update and reboot. Seems to be something else for me

i was looking into the journalctl for kwin and seems that the /dev/dri/card1 is busy at the time it tries to access it

I will look more into it but i havent been able to solve it but i am blank here ):
