Black screen upgrading to Fedora 43

Hi, I tried to upgrade to fedora 43 from 42, gnome.
It went through the upgrade process normally (though it seemed like it finished soon after it was at 50%), and then it restarted.

But instead if going into my GUI I get a black screen with a blinking cursor.

I am able to access the terminal and log in.

I have been reading other posts about this, but I am not a technical user, and do not know which post pertains to me, and I am struggling to figure out what to do.

Technical details:
On a Dell xps 15 laptop, nvidia gpu.
When I run journalctl - b I can find a big red list, it says “process 2375 (gnome-shell) of user 60578 dumped core”, then there’s pages of red.

And it says, after the list, "org. gnome.shell@wayland.service Failed with result “core dump” "

I would really appreciate help.

It could be related to this: GDM crashes after upgrade to Fedora 43 due to authselect migration

Hi Sir, my laptop is working again. I feel dramatic now for opening a ticket. When I saw core dump, I thought it was over.

The change I made that I believe worked was

sudo dnf distro-sync --refresh --releasever=43 --allowerasing --skip-broken --setopt=protected_packages=
