I have an HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa0xxx with a Realtek RTL8822CE WiFi/Bluetooth card, running Fedora Linux 44 KDE Plasma on an Intel Core i5-12450H with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Mobile (hybrid graphics).
On first boot, everything works perfectly. But after suspend, the laptop wakes up (fans spin, keyboard lights up) and the system is clearly running behind the scenes. I can type my password blindly and hear system sounds, and the screen brightness shifts slightly, but the display stays completely black. I have to force shutdown every time.
I actually fixed this exact issue about six months ago with a script I found online that worked flawlessly on my previous Fedora install. I think it unloaded and reloaded the WiFi and Bluetooth drivers during suspend/resume. I recently reinstalled Fedora KDE and now I can’t find that script anywhere despite searching for hours.
Has anyone else experienced this black screen after suspend with the RTL8822CE or similar hardware? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
