Black Screen after Login Screen - Fedora 41 KDE

I have a fresh install of Fedora 41 (KDE). After rebooting, I was prompted with the login screen as normal. However, after entering the correct credentials, the screen simply goes black (or freezes on a tty screen if I had opened one previously). I can open a tty screen before logging in. I scanned briefly, and found these maybe relevant error logs in journalctl:

I am using a laptop with an RTX 2070. I have tried reinstalling drivers, forcing akmods, and most other common suggestions for driver errors with no success (+ secure boot is disabled). My motherboard has no option to disable the GPU, unfortunately.

Did you manage to log in before, or is this an install so fresh that it happened right after installation?

Given that the issue seems to be with the gtk implementation of xdg-desktop-portal, this workaround might be of help.

Ah yes, I’ve managed to log in before. I rebooted a few times before the error kicked in (didn’t alter much aside from updating packages, installing a few applications). I’ll try your workaround, thanks!

didn’t work, unfortunately

Were the NVidia drivers installed the RPM Fusion way? If so, you could try reinstalling them.

Does the issue replicate with the generic nouveau drivers?

Also, after a new restart, right after a failed login attempt, you could log in from the console and post the last few hundred lines from the logs with journalctl -b -n 200.
