I use fedora on a virtual machine via vmware 17.0.2. After a recent update to kernel version 6.10.5, I only see a black screen when booting. If you forcibly reboot the virtual machine, you will have a choice of three kernel versions - 6.10.6, 6.10.5, 6.10.3. And only on 6.10.3 does my system start normally. There is another way to run the system on 6.10.6 is to enable 3d graphics acceleration in the vmware settings, but I don’t need it - with this setting, I get black artifacts when working with the ide from jetbrains. On a physical machine, I have amd 7800xt installed with the latest drivers. I have seen a problem with a black screen in similar topics, but nvidia drivers appear there. Please tell me what to do, I’m afraid that after the next update, the kernel version with normal boot will disappear from the list.
Removed nvidia
Another users reported the same issue in the last couple of days.
They found that you must enable the 3d acceration to get the graphics working.
Try enabling 3d acceleration. Does it fix things for you?

Yes, I wrote above - with the 3d accelerator, loading occurs even on 6.10.6 and 6.10.5. But I also pointed out that with the accelerator, I have artifacts in the ide. Where there is a black rectangle, the cursor should blink. Usually, it flashes as it should, but often an artifact appears there and it’s annoying. That’s why I’m turning off the 3d accelerator. Will new kernel versions not work without it?
