Autokey in Fedora 43

Hi! Up to my current Fedora KDE Plasma 42 machine I have been happily using Autokey - in the X11 environment. I know it doesn’t work in Wayland.

Now I read that from Fedora 43, X11 is not available, only Wayland. That seems to preclude me from upgrading to Version 43, right? As for my workflows, Autokey is.important.

Or is there a workaround?

Many people regard Cinnamon Desktop as a good desktop that is compatible with x windows and F43.

Sorry, that’s not my question. I have set up my workplace with multiple ‘Activity’ Spaces and the activities are only available in KDE Plasma, as far as I know

Whow! That sounds great. But I am not versed in this kind of development work. (Just too stupid, I guess.)

So it seems that there is no solution for me! I will stick to version 42 then and forget about the upgrades

Xorg is a dead end, so you will be not be able to continue using Autokey at one time in the future anyway.

It depends on how you use Autokey, but Espanso may fill at least part of the gap. It is a powerful text snippet utility. You define abbreviations, and Espanso will expand them when you type them.

Thanks. Understand. Will have to look into that.

Still hoping that the developer of Autokey might feel compelled to keep hid baby alive.
